Topic: Building Apps with MonoTouch
If you are interested in using C# to build iPhone applications. This session is for you. MonoTouch allows developers to create C# and .NET based applications that run on Apple's iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. Come see what all the fuss is about and learn about tools like Interface Builder, iPad/iPhone Simulator, and MonoDevelop.
The session will walk you through the basics of building an application for the iPad/iPhone and give you enough information for you to roll out your own application.

About the Speaker
Bobby Chopra currently works on building WPF applications for Bank Of America Merrill Lynch. He loves reading about different technologies, playing with new languages and trying out software tools during his free time. He started looking at building iPhone applications and got interested in MonoTouch. Although, he is very opinionated about software, he is wiling to concede if you are right. He enjoys Dudley Malone quote, "I have never in my life learned anything from any man
who agreed with me."
This meeting will be held at the Microsoft offices as usual. Check the Meetup site for details!

What is ALT.NET? 1. You’re the type of developer who uses what works while keeping an eye out for a better way. 2. You reach outside the mainstream to adopt the best of any community: Open Source, Agile, Java, Ruby, etc. 3. You’re not content with the status quo. Things can always be better expressed, more elegant and simple, more mutable, higher quality, etc. 4. You know tools are great, but they only take you so far. It’s the principles and knowledge that really matter. The best tools are those that embed the knowledge and encourage the principles ...then you're in the right place! We will be meeting monthly to discuss issues that interest us in a loose, informal discussion-style environment. All software developers of every stripe are hereby extended an invitation to participate in the discussion or just come and see what all this ALT.NET stuff is about.
