Topic: Trips and Traps for Brownfield Agile
Agile principles and practices can be challenging enough to introduce at the the beginning of a new project -- they are that much harder still to introduce to an existing team and an existing project. Between technical challenges, managerial resistance, and friction from other team members, there are a host of pain points that need to be addressed when introducing Agile to an existing, ongoing project.
Join us for an interactive discussion about some of the common challenges of introducing Agile into the Enterprise, learn some common pitfalls, discover some techniques that are proven to work, and share your own experiences in similar situations.
If you have always thought to yourself "I kind of like all this Agile stuff, but there's just no way it could ever work for my situation, my team, and my project, then this meeting is for you!
Aaron Simonds has 15 years of experience working as a Developer, DBA and Architect. After graduating Valedictorian from the USMC Computer Sciences School in Quantico Va., he started his professional career upgrading undocumented legacy systems written in IBM OS/390 assembly. Since then he has been invited to work on a wide variety of projects ranging from upgrading integration systems between the Dept of Defense and the Federal Reserve Bank, embedded flight simulator navigation systems and numerous business systems for privately held companies. He is currently working as a systems architect with The Corcoran Group and he has keen interests in SDLC processes, developing applications that are easily maintained, integrated and upgraded without sacrificing performance, and how the fields of mathematics and psychology can be used as practical tools to further these goals... his favorite color is blue.
This meeting will be held at the Microsoft offices as usual. Check the Meetup site for details!
