Had almost nothing to do with .NET, and too much marketing for Heroku. I couldn't sit through the whole thing. If I hadn't come looking for .NET, and was a CIO instead of a developer, it would probably have been very useful. Big thanks to the sponsor, Magnet (and Echo), for the delicious & unexpected pizza! Wish I'd known about it beforehand as I ate before I arrived.

While not very .Net-centric, still a very good presentation. Demonstrated exactly the topic at hand, and I think nothing was lost by using Heroku and then summarizing using AppHarbor, as the deployment aspect is quite similar. Attendee participation reflected a need for a presentation on DVCS.

Very interesting presentation. I went right home and deployed a nodejs/express app on heroku within 10mins, so the speaker was correct about how easy and fast it is. A little lengthy though, should focus just on the topic at hand instead of explaining things like git, which people could look up themselves if needed.

As a newbie on deploying to the cloud, it was very a nice meeting to know what other developers are doing.

Not enough time spent on AppHarbor which would apply directly to .Net developers.

My first ALT.NET meetup! While I expected "Deploying Apps To The Cloud" which apparently got pushed to the following month, I found the AOP presentation very interesting and useful and was using and discussing it at work days later. Thanks, Steve!

Steve made the topic very easy to understand and covered the different implementations / approaches very well. He used great examples that were easy to follow and presented the material in a very intuitive manner. The only criticism I would have is that personally, the presentation felt a little long perhaps because too much time was spent on the beginning. Perhaps the examples can cut back on the number of wrappers as it gets slightly redundant and/or simplify the exceptions thrown to just crash instead of having two types of exceptions as it diverts the attention to the service instead of concentrating on AOP.

This was my first meet up and it had everything I need to keep coming back: thought provoking and engaging. Now I just need to get my hands on that YouTube video...

I loved the discussions, the arguments for and against topics, they way a user group should be: Loud and Clear.

Very interesting topic, with a lot to cover. I'm glad I went, I wished I could have stayed longer. I'd also cast a few stones: 1) a 2-hour lecture needs a break/intermission, and 2) Hold questions until the end (perhaps of each session) and 3) start on time. (RE: holding questions: in my experience, at least 90% of audience contributions *during* the delivery of a lecture are at best not useful and at worst mood-changing. Though I love a group discussion, lectures are a different kind of forum, and I've personally lost all tolerance for audience members who hijack a presentation without considering whether or not their questions are useful to the audience at large. My brain then, despite any argument I may present it, tends to blame the presenter for allowing this). Overall, it was a great presentation of a complex and bold topic, well delivered and engaging - I'll definitely be back for more.
