All:
By now, most of you have probably received an e-mail posted to this mailing list with the subject line of "[nyaltnet] New Meetup: 10gen CEO & DoubleClick Co-Founder presenting MongoDB, high-performance SQL-free database".
Several members have contacted NYALTNET organizers asking for further information as the text of the message ("this will be a joint-meetup with 6 groups....") seems to somehow imply that this event is connected in some way to our own meetup group. This is not the case and the NYALTNET group organizers are unaware of any specifics in re: this event.
The aforementioned message was unsolicited and the author has been asked to please refrain from transmitting such unsolicited announcements in the future without first contacting the group's organizers for a determination as to any event's relevance to our membership before it is accepted for transmission/posting.
We apologize for the unsolicited message (and the need for this follow-up which, sadly, must also be classified as unsolicited!).
-NYALTNET Organizing Team
